An energy industry professional with a career that spanned 34 years before his retirement, Javier Alvarado holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a specialized degree in energy management from Simon Bolivar University in Venezuela. An experienced senior administrator, he has completed the Managing Technology and Innovation Program and a course on human resources at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the PDVSA Business Leaders Program at Harvard Business School. From 2012 until his retirement, Javier Alvarado served as the president of the Caracas-based research and development firm Intevep.
